The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party remains Kenya’s most popular political party.

Latest scientific findings established that the Oburu Odinga-led political party commands 20 per cent public support. It is closely followed by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) at 16 per cent.

While the figures place ODM at the top of the popularity rankings, the poll reveals a notable decline in support for both major parties compared to their standing during the 2022 General Election period.

Data from TIFA shows that ODM’s popularity has dropped sharply from 32 per cent in 2022 to the current 20 per cent. Similarly, UDA has experienced an even steeper fall, declining from 38 per cent at the height of the 2022 campaigns to 16 per cent. The trend points to growing voter dissatisfaction and a shift in public sentiment nearly three years after the last general election.

Analysts attribute the decline to unmet public expectations, economic pressures, and internal party challenges that have eroded confidence in mainstream political formations. Rising costs of living, governance concerns, and perceived gaps between campaign promises and delivery appear to be influencing voter attitudes across the political divide.

The poll suggests that, while ODM and UDA parties remain dominant forces in Kenya’s political landscape, their grip on public support is weakening. This shift could create space for smaller parties, independent candidates, or new political movements ahead of the next election cycle, as voters continue to reassess their political loyalties.
