A faction of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) associated with Oburu Odinga is set to stage a major rally at Tononoka Grounds in Mombasa.
Hon. Sam Atandi confirmed the development, announcing his departure from Nairobi to attend what he described as the “grand ODM Linda Ground Rally” at #Tononoka Grounds. In his update, Atandi called on supporters to turn up in large numbers, saying, “Karibuni nyote!”
The Mombasa rally comes amid heightened political activity within ODM, as rival camps mobilise supporters in different parts of the country. The Tononoka meeting is widely seen as a counter-move to a separate gathering planned in Kitengela by allies of Nairobi Senator Edwin #Sifuna.
The parallel rallies highlight the ongoing internal contestation within the party, with both sides seeking to consolidate grassroots support and assert influence ahead of key political decisions.
Security is expected to be heightened in both venues as leaders address supporters on the party’s direction and national political developments.
