A serious accident occurred on Monday afternoon at the Diatomite area in Gilgil involving a truck and three matatus. The collision left several PSVs badly damaged, with passengers trapped inside.
Police report that seven people have died – five at the scene and two others later at St Mary’s Hospital — while eleven others sustained injuries.
Rescue teams are on site, working to free remaining victims. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while emergency operations continue.
