Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino on Sunday addressed speculation about his political relationship with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna during an interview on Citizen Sunday Live, hosted by Jeff Koinange.

Speaking candidly on the popular Citizen TV program, Owino dismissed claims of rivalry between the two youthful leaders, framing their relationship as complementary rather than competitive.

Responding to a question on who between them is the “boss,” Owino used a metaphor to explain their dynamic. “It is a conversation,” he said. “Mr. Sun is the king of the day and shines during the day. Mr. Moon is the king of the night and shines at night. There is no competition in this thing; there is only completion.”

The outspoken legislator emphasized that leadership is not about outshining one another but about working together toward a shared political vision.

“The sun does not affect the moon shining and the moon does not affect the sun shining. You need the moon and the sun to make a complete day,” he stated.

Owino reiterated that his focus, alongside Sifuna, is delivering on their mandate and advancing their agenda for the people of Nairobi and beyond. “It is not about competition, it is about completion of the job that we want to do, completion of our vision,” he added.

His remarks come amid heightened political discourse within Nairobi’s leadership, with observers closely watching alliances and future ambitions among emerging political figures. #BabuOwino
