Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has told ODM top brass that he will also become a respected party leader in this country whether they like it or not.
Addressing from Mombasa where ODM is celebrating its 20 years of existence, the controversial lawmaker took ODM leaders head-on by reminding them that not appointing him for any role in ODM despite recent changes was a mistake they will live to regret the rest pf their lives.
“Najuwa hii ndio mkutano ya mwisho mimi kuongea hapa kwa ODM, kwa hivyo, wacha niongee Bw Sifuna. Angekuwa baba yuko ningeongea hata one hour lakini bahati mbaya hayuko na hawa wadosi ambao wamebaki na sisi najuwa hawatataka kuniona hapa tena siku ingine.
“Najuwa wamechaguana juzi kuongoza chama lakini nataka kuwauliza swali moja, ‘kwani waliangalia wakaona ati Babu Owino hastahili kuwa kitu chochote?'” he posed in Swahili as young supporters cheered him on.
Sooner towards completing his address, Secretary General Edwin Sifuna quickly interjected by reminding the audience that MP Babu had promised to maintain respect only to shortchange him on the microphone.
“Sasa wewe Babu ulikuwa umesema hautakosea mtu heshima kwa hii mkutano lakini sasa umeshakosa heshima, unadhani wakati mwingine nitakuamini kweli? Mr. Sifuna doubted Babu Owino.
Party Chairman Gladys Wanga jumped on to the stage.
