The political landscape of Kakamega County mourns the loss of former Shinyalu Member of Parliament, Daniel Khamasi, who passed away on Tuesday morning in a Nairobi hospital after a prolonged illness. Khamasi, remembered as a committed legislator and community leader, was 79 years old.
Khamasi represented Shinyalu Constituency for two consecutive terms from 1997 to 2007, during which he was credited with championing local development initiatives and advocating for the welfare of his constituents. Among them is Kakamega Governor Fernandez Barasa, who paid tribute to the late legislator. “I have received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of Hon. Daniel Khamasi, former MP for Shinyalu.
