Blogger and digital commentator Cyprian Nyakundi has announced a cash reward of Ksh 50,000 following a break-in that resulted in the loss of critical work equipment from his office.

In a message shared publicly, Nyakundi expressed frustration over the incident, revealing that unknown individuals broke into the premises and made away with essential electronics, including office computers, cameras, and external hard drives. He noted that some of the stolen devices contained months of backed-up work, dealing a major blow to his operations.

Nyakundi lamented that the theft occurred at a time when many Kenyans are struggling to earn an honest living, describing the act as careless and deeply disruptive.

“While many Kenyans are working tirelessly to make ends meet, someone chose to break into an office and steal tools of work,” he wrote.

In a bid to recover the stolen items and identify the suspect(pictured), the blogger announced a Ksh 50,000 reward for credible information leading to an arrest. He urged members of the public to share any leads and said reports could be made directly to him or to officers at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kilimani.

Nyakundi also shared an image of a man believed to be connected to the incident, appealing to the public to assist law enforcement in tracking him down.

The incident has sparked online reactions, with many Kenyans condemning the theft and calling for increased security to protect digital professionals whose livelihoods depend on their equipment.
