Jubilee Party has announced the elevation of Jeremiah Kioni from Secretary-General to Deputy Party Leader, signaling a strategic shift in the party’s leadership ahead of the 2027 elections.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, positions Kioni as the second-in-command within the party, tasked with supporting Party Leader and former President Uhuru Kenyatta in steering Jubilee’s agenda and strengthening its organizational structures nationwide.
In a statement, the party highlighted Kioni’s extensive experience in political leadership and grassroots mobilization, noting that his new role will involve coordinating party activities, enhancing engagement with members, and providing strategic direction on key policy issues.
Kioni, a seasoned legislator and former Member of Parliament for Ndaragwa, thanked the party leadership for the promotion, pledging to work closely with both the leader and other party officials to unify members and drive Jubilee’s vision forward.
Political analysts say the elevation could also be aimed at consolidating internal party cohesion and preparing for upcoming elections, with Kioni expected to play a key role in rallying support among both veteran and new party members.
The move comes at a critical time as Jubilee seeks to solidify its position in Kenya’s political landscape, balancing between maintaining loyal cadres and appealing to a broader electorate ahead of the next general election cycle.
