Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang’ has declared his readiness to work with President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election, signaling a potential realignment in Kenya’s political landscape.

Speaking on Saturday, January 1, 2026, in Malaba, Busia County, where the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) had pitched camp for its Linda Ground campaigns, Kajwang’ urged ODM supporters in Western Kenya and the Nyanza region to back dialogue with the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA). He argued that cooperation offered the most viable path forward for the country.

Kajwang’ told supporters that Kenya was being pulled in three different political directions, but only one — which he described as the “Singapore way” — offered stability and progress. He asked the crowd to choose between “Singapore” and “Wamunyoro,” a question that drew loud chants of “Singapore” from the audience.

He further called on ODM supporters to rally behind Oburu Odinga, whom he described as the party’s new leader, and to give him the mandate to spearhead scheduled talks with President Ruto.

The remarks came as ODM launched its Linda Ground campaigns aimed at reclaiming and consolidating its traditional strongholds in Western Kenya. The regional tours are being led by Oburu Odinga and senior party officials.

Separately, President Ruto has publicly confirmed that UDA is engaged in discussions with ODM on forming the next government. Speaking at Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri after meeting thousands of grassroots supporters, the President said the talks were progressing.

“I am certain that we will finally agree and work with ODM on how to go forward with our relationship,” Ruto said. “We do not want to leave anyone behind, including the people of Mt Kenya and Kenyans from across the nation.”
