Kenya Pipeline Company has moved to calm rising public anxiety over fuel availability, firmly stating that the country has adequate petroleum reserves despite growing reports of shortages at filling stations in several regions.

Amid concerns over fuel shortages in several counties, KPC stressed that its terminals across the country had sufficient stocks, adding that the oil it currently holds is safe and meets all national and international standards.

“We wish to assure the public that there is sufficient fuel in all of our terminals and depots and that the products meet national and international quality standards as prescribed by relevant certification bodies,” stated KPC.

The petroleum company released official stock figures as of April 8, 2026, revealing inventory levels that paint a very different picture from what many Kenyans have been experiencing at fuel stations in recent days.
