Kenyans owed money by clean-cooking and bioethanol firm KOKO Networks have been given 14 days to lodge their claims after the company announced its exit from the Kenyan market.

KOKO sold fuel at a subsidised rate of about Ksh100 per litre, significantly lower than the market average of roughly Ksh200. Its cooking stoves were also subsidised to around Ksh 1,500, compared to typical market prices of about Ksh 15,000.
