Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai, a vocal member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has issued a pointed caution to Eliud Owalo following his declaration to run for the presidency in 2027.
Alai mocked Owalo’s assertion that he has been the “kingpin all along,” questioning whether the public must now bow to him. “Everyone thought they were fighting to be the kingpin of the Luo, then Eliud #Owalo now claims that he has been the kingpin all along. So we must bow to him?” Alai rhetorically asked, sparking laughter and social media debate.
The MCA further warned that Owalo’s political theatrics might backfire spectacularly. “Owalo will be chased naked in the streets soon. Even Gor Mahia will disown him. Joker,” Alai added, emphasizing his disbelief at the claim.
Owalo’s confident posture could, according to sections, ignite tensions among aspirants and his supposed allies.
Alai’s rebuke highlights the growing scrutiny Owalo faces from both opponents and the public as he positions himself for a high-stakes political contest.
Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo was among the first persons to cast aspersions on the move taken by Mr. Owalo. “If he does not vie on UDA, he becomes a kingpin of a smaller party that then fights out against ODM. Secondly, maybe, a launching pad for gubernatorial position Siaya or MP Rarieda Constituency.
“Presidential bid is hot air, wild goose chase and fools errand outside 1 and 2,” she wrote on her walls on Sunday.
For now, the drama surrounding Owalo’s ambitions continues to dominate headlines, providing Kenyans with a mix of politics and satire in equal measure.
