The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has called on students aspiring to join universities and colleges to take part in the inaugural National Career Conference and Exhibition 2026, an event designed to help learners make informed education and career choices ahead of the placement exercise.
In a statement, KUCCPS said the three-day conference will be held from January 27 to 29, 2026, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). The forum will bring together students, parents, universities, colleges and key stakeholders in the education and training sector under one roof.
According to the placement agency, the conference is intended to offer practical guidance on higher education pathways by allowing learners to interact directly with institutions of learning, professional bodies and industry players. KUCCPS noted that over 100 exhibitors are expected to participate, including public and private universities, TVET institutions, professional organisations and private sector partners.
Participants will also benefit from structured career guidance sessions led by experts, mentorship engagements with industry leaders and forums focusing on emerging labour market trends and employability skills. In addition, the event will host policy discussions involving government officials and education stakeholders aimed at aligning training programmes with national development priorities.
KUCCPS further revealed that it will operate on-site support clinics during the conference to assist students with placement applications and transitions between institutions, underscoring its evolving role as a long-term career development partner.
Separately, KUCCPS announced a new partnership with Kenya Utalii College that will see hospitality and tourism courses from the institution offered through the KUCCPS placement system for the first time. KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome said the courses will be uploaded to the placement portal ahead of the 2026 application cycle.
The developments come as thousands of candidates who sat the 2025 KCSE examinations await the opening of the placement portal to apply for courses in universities and TVET institutions nationwide.
