Prominent businesswoman and former Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has once again publicly distanced herself from the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), reaffirming her allegiance to the Linda Mwananchi movement in a heated exchange with lawyer and political activist Miguna Miguna.

The confrontation unfolded on social media today, with Omanga sharply criticizing Lawyer Miguna for what she described as inconsistent political allegiances.

“A conflicted demagogue trying to chase clout with my name after his popularity and relevance dwindled. You profusely supported President William Ruto in 2022, then later turned against him. You did the same with President Uhuru Kenyatta and PM Raila Odinga. Flipflopper masquerading as a genius. Shame on you!” Omanga wrote.

Miguna Miguna responded swiftly, dismissing Omanga’s claims and turning the critique back on her, saying, “This is laughable. If you think these are ‘revolutionaries’ and/or change agents, then you are the problem – not the rotten Ruto regime.”

The exchange highlights rising tensions among political figures who have increasingly positioned themselves as champions of reform and opposition movements outside the UDA-led government.

Omanga’s latest statements reinforce her break from the ruling party and her commitment to the grassroots-focused Linda Mwananchi cohort, which has been gaining traction among voters seeking an alternative to mainstream political structures.

Political analysts suggest that clashes such as these reflect a broader struggle for influence among Kenya’s opposition leaders, as personalities jockey for relevance ahead of the 2027 elections.
