Kiharu Constituency Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has unveiled the nearly completed Mwai Kibaki Tuition Block at Kiharu Technical and Vocational College (Kiharu TVC), describing the project as one of the most fulfilling development achievements in the constituency.
“Among the development projects we have done in Kiharu Constituency, this is quite elating,” Nyoro said during the unveiling. He noted that the modern tuition block is almost ready for use and will significantly improve learning conditions for students pursuing technical and vocational training.
Nyoro said the facility reflects his commitment to investing in education and skills development as a pathway to economic empowerment for the youth. He also paid glowing tribute to former President Mwai Kibaki, after whom the block is named.
“President Mwai Kibaki is a leader who woke up every morning as President to serve our country, Kenya,” Nyoro said. “He subjugated his personal aggrandisement, and this gave him clarity of thought and purpose. Our country rose to unprecedented levels economically.”
Emphasizing the importance of self-driven development, the MP added, “We are African and Africa is our business,” noting that local solutions are key to sustainable progress.
The unveiling comes against the backdrop of political debate after National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah challenged Nyoro to explain the source of funding for his numerous development projects. Nyoro has maintained that the initiatives are funded through prudent planning, accountability and effective use of public resources.
The Mwai Kibaki Tuition Block is expected to strengthen technical education in Kiharu and expand opportunities for local learners.
