President William Ruto has intensified his critique of the United Opposition, urging its members to publicly account for their achievements before seeking the presidency.
Addressing a rally in Migori County yesterday, President Ruto, joined by ODM party leadership, emphasized the importance of track records in leadership. He said voters deserve clear answers on what each aspirant has accomplished during their time in public office.
“I asked them these questions, and up to now, they are not responding. When we seek answers on our individual track record for the period we have been in leadership, we must be ready to account,” Ruto told the audience.
The president singled out former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, questioning why he has not communicated to Kenyans the impact of his more than 40 years in public service.
Ruto vowed to continue raising the issue of accountability, stressing that he will not relent until every leader explains their contributions to national development. “This is not about politics alone; it is about honesty, transparency, and respect for the electorate,” he added.
Political analysts say Ruto’s message is part of his broader strategy to shape the 2027 electoral narrative, positioning himself as a candidate focused on tangible achievements while putting the opposition under scrutiny.
