Former President Uhuru Kenyatta will not be hosting a group of youths who had planned to visit his Ichaweri residence in Gatundu on Sunday.

In a statement released on February 22, his Communications Secretary Kanze Dena said the former Head of State is currently unable to accommodate the planned visit. She emphasized that any individuals or groups seeking an audience with the former president should formally notify his office in advance to allow for proper coordination.

The statement clarified that while the visit will not proceed as anticipated, Kenyatta remains open to engaging with citizens, particularly young people, on issues that promote national cohesion and mutual understanding. According to Dena, he values intergenerational dialogue and believes it plays a key role in shaping Kenya’s future.

She added that the former president continues to recognize and appreciate the enthusiasm, creativity, and patriotism demonstrated by the country’s youth in recent years and remains supportive of their initiatives.

The clarification follows recent remarks by the Jubilee Party, which distanced itself from reports suggesting it had organized a Gen-Z gathering at Kenyatta’s rural home. In an earlier statement, the party termed the reports inaccurate and not reflective of the former president’s position.

Jubilee urged the public to rely only on official communication channels, including verified platforms managed by the Office of the Fourth President and the party’s authorized social media accounts, for accurate information regarding Kenyatta’s engagements. #Uhuru #Ichaweri
