Success or achievement is not what we usually think of. Most people associate achievement with material things they have amassed in a year or so. But this could be wrong.

If we tie our successes on how much we have acquired over time or by how many degrees we have secured from colleges then it means those who haven’t stepped their feet into college or campus have achieved nothing. Which cannot be true.

Let’s be honest, an achievement is much different from what we tie it to. Though school and wealth makes part of it to some extent.

What Achievement means

Psychologists will tell you having a mental soberness is also a good health achievement, being able to accomplish a task be it even paying for a stubborn bill or loan is also another achievement.

Moreover, just affording to live your life whether average or not still is a worthy achievement. What really matter is to have peace of mind.

Furthermore, you have been dreaming of launching something – or just seeing yourself innovate a tech space like a nice blog or social media ecosystem like the one you are reading now, all these, even if they are not currently making you Money, means you achieved a step more in your life. Never see wealth as the only measure for Achievements. The small things you do every day to improve yourself or the lives of others matter too.

Treat every step of your journey and life as a great achievement. The greatest mistake we do is to compare ourselves with others. You will never be someone else. What they achieved or not is not what you needed to achieve. They did what they did because they had that idea to do it or their space, resources and environment allowed or say made it possible for them to go that far.

This simply means you won’t become either of them. Work within your means to make sure you fit well where you are. Be comfortable and proud of yourself and with the little you have or are trying to achieve.

Never stop experimenting

Last but not least, the greatest mistake you can make in this struggle is to stop trying. Every day wake up, pray and move to your desk or hustle. There will be something good or bad you will learn. Either way, you have learnt something at least. It is an achievement!

Said and done, age should not scare you. God made everyone with their achievement day in His mind. I have seen my friends some make it at 25 while other make it at 45. Whichever the way, they both made it, anyway. So do not frown on delays. Some delays are healthy in life.

A delay cannot be a missed opportunity. Better late than never.
