A 24-year-old former Radio Africa journalist has died following a tragic road crash involving a motorcycle and a concrete mixer on Nairobi’s Uhuru Highway.
The fatal accident happened at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday near the University Way roundabout, police confirmed.
According to preliminary findings, the motorcycle and a Foton concrete mixer were both heading from the Westlands area towards Nairobi’s central business district when the rider is believed to have struck the road pavement and lost control of the bike.
The motorcycle reportedly veered into the path of the concrete mixer, causing a collision that threw the passenger, identified as Rose #Mbugua, onto the road. She sustained fatal injuries in the crash as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident continue.
