Kenyan man filmed being harassed and kicked by a Chinese employer in Nairobi says he has forgiven him and wishes to continue working there.

Today Monday November 17, the company shared the video showing the victim with the accused shaking hands in their office as a sign of reconciliation.

The victim would confess forgiving the employer and urged the government not to deport him back to India because he was their only source of livelihood.

The assault incident had attracted a lot of public outrage; what forced top labour unions and the State to react with threats of sending the Chinese investor back to his home. But now that they two have resolved their differences, the State may decide to abandon the matter, though, assault and criminal cases are never left to the victims. These are weighty court matters that can only be handled by the State through the official court prosecutors.

So, whether the Chinese will survive this or not will depend on what the State decides. The law may say, ‘It is not for him to forgive. A crime was committed and the law will take its own course’.
