The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has moved to court to recover a Buruburu Phase 5 parcel in Nairobi valued at Ksh 65 million from Julgem Communications Services Ltd.

The company is linked to controversial Makadara MP George Aladwa, and EACC is arguing that the land was originally reserved for public use and its transfer violated government procedures.

The Environment and Land Court has directed that Aladwa and other respondents be served with court documents, issued an injunction preventing the sale or transfer of the property, and scheduled the case for mention on December 2, 2025, while EACC pursues a similar Ksh 70 million public land recovery case in the same estate.

Mr. Aladwa is an ODM Party elected Member of Parliament in Nairobi and he is planning to become the next governor of the city.

Hon. Aladwa is a popular and vocal opposition lawmaker on matters around ODM having been close to the late party boss, Raila Amolo Odinga for many years.

Should he make good his threat of running for the Nairobi County gubernatorial position, he will have to put up with the fact that his Embakasi East MP Babu Owino’s popularity is not someone to just wish away.
