Former Kakamega County Nominated Member of Assembly, Ms Lynda Praise Aseyo Wamalwa, has passed away after being involved in a ghastly road crash along Mumias Road in Kakamega on the evening of Tuesday, November 18.

Close friends and acquaintances confirmed her death, describing it as shocking since they had spent that Tuesday evening together discussing politics, development, and leadership.

“Road carnage has taken Lynda Praise. She was hit by a Climax Bus coming from Mumias while riding a bodaboda near the Ikonyero area. She died on the spot,” a Facebook user reported after leaving Lynda alive in Kakamega Town.

Together with local leaders and politicians, Mumias East Member of Parliament, Peter Kalerwa Salasya, mourned the late MCA, describing her passing as a significant loss for her family and for leadership in Kakamega.

“So sad to hear of the death of Hon. Lynda Praise, the former Nominated MCA of Shirere, Kakamega County, which has just occurred along Mumias–Kakamega Road near Ikonyero.

“The accident involved the car they were using. Lynda Aseyo was a great friend and supporter to me—indeed, so sad. Rest in peace, mhesh,” MP Salasya announced.

The Kakamega–Mumias Road is one of the most accident-prone highways in the region, claiming many lives at the Ikonyero black spot.

Ms. Lynda served in the Kakamega County Assembly between 2017 and 2022 under the Mudavadi-led ANC Party.
