Orange Democratic Movement Party boss Dr. Oburu Odinga has told a section of members working with governmnet to make sure their positions benefit the party not only themselves and their families.
Dr. Oburu mentioned that the negotiations his Brother started with the current regime were never meant for personal gains. They were aimed at benefiting the entire ODM fraternity including supporters
“The late Hon. Raila Odinga left us in broadbased government and this was not meant for personal gains. That arrangement was made to benefit the people – ll members of ODM Party and, therefore, as we proceed forward, we are going to negotiate again seriously so that our people get their fare share of the national cake”.
He added that ODM need to remain stronger ahead of the next general election and assured supporters that the party will not go down under his watch.
The party leader further added that the strength of any party informs its negotiating power in any arrangement what he is going to make sure happens either to help ODM take power or to join the next government.
“When you were negotiating with anybody, you can only successfully negotiate when you have good numbers. But if you are juts a handful, no one will take you serious.
“Those who think or want to break ODM in their fertile imaginations, I want to tell them that will never happen under my watch”.
Oburu noted also that ODM will never be divided while still in his hands and this is meant to make sure that in 2027, they either are going to go alone or negotiate with parties that share ideologies.
Dr. Oburu, the new party leader, firmly stated that he had resolved never to lead the party to the opposition again because, ODM had overstayed in the opposition
