Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo has been removed from office after the County Assembly voted to impeach him.
The impeachment motion, driven by Nyamira MCAs, accused the governor of gross misconduct, abuse of office, and making irregular appointments. This marks the third attempt to unseat him amid escalating political rifts within the assembly.
The motion, sponsored by Bonyamatuta Ward MCA and Majority Leader Julius Kimwomi Matwere, secured 19 votes out of 31 in favour of impeachment, while four MCAs abstained.
