A mother identified as Vane Nyanchoka Ontweka has named her quadruplets after the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Mama Ida Odinga.
There was a huge jubilation at Nyanchwa Hospital in Kisii County on Monday Nov 11 morning hours after Vane safely delivered the quadruplets – four babies born at once – in a rare and joyous event that has captured national attention.
Doctors announced that she managed to give birth via caesarean section to three boys and one girl, all named after Kenya’s late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga and his wife, Ida Odinga.
The three boys were named Raila, Amolo, and Odinga, while the baby girl was named Ida.
Raila Amolo Odinga was Kenyan mots respected politician who died just a month ago and was buried in his local farm in Bondo, Siaya County.
Many Mothers who delivered between October and November named their babies after him(Raila) as a sign of respect to a man who had a revolutionary name both in and outside the country.
