Brighton Shock Arsenal as Roma and Inter Share Spoils, Dortmund Edge Stuttgart

Saturday produced plenty of drama across Europe’s major leagues, with three of the biggest matches delivering contrasting results.

The biggest surprise came at the Amex Stadium, where Brighton & Hove Albion stunned defending champions Arsenal with a 3-0 victory in the Premier League.

Arsenal had entered the match with a perfect league record and appeared to be in excellent form. However, Brighton produced an impressive performance and took control of the contest.

Pascal Groß opened the scoring in the 31st minute before Charalampos Kostoulas doubled Brighton’s advantage just before half-time. Chema Andrés then completed the scoring nine minutes after the restart, giving Brighton a memorable victory.

The defeat ended Arsenal’s perfect start to the league campaign and represented their heaviest loss in three years. Brighton, meanwhile, strengthened their position among the early-season contenders.

Roma and Inter Play Out Entertaining Draw

In Serie A, Roma and Inter Milan shared the points in a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Olimpico.

The encounter brought together two sides that had won their opening four league matches, making it one of the weekend’s most anticipated fixtures.

Neither team was able to establish complete control as both produced enough attacking quality to find the net twice. The result means both sides dropped their first points of the campaign but remained unbeaten.

Dortmund Claim Narrow Win at Stuttgart

Borussia Dortmund also secured an important away victory, defeating Stuttgart 1–0 in the Bundesliga.

The match was much tighter than the scoreline might suggest, with Stuttgart unable to convert their opportunities into goals. Dortmund eventually found the breakthrough and held on to claim all three points.

The result provides Dortmund with a valuable away win as the Bundesliga season continues.
