Kakamega County in reported to have immense wealth in terms of natural resources. The Government has made this confirmation.

According to a statement from the Cabinet Minister for Mining and Natural Resources Mr. Ali Hassan Joho, it is true the county has gold resources of over 680 billion value.

Joho said, this value continues to rise and could reach staggering figures in days to come. This confirmation saw a number of leaders from Kakamega, especially, from the gold-rich zones, warn the State against attempts to move away locals from their area.

Kakamega County Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale was seen inciting locals in Ikolomani area, where he comes from, not to accept being relocated elsewhere.
