Good news for Kenyans living in Saudi Arabia as government confirms new minimum monthly wage for each one starting February next year.

Every Kenyan working in the Middle East will now receive a pay increment following the Middle Eastern nation’s announcement of a new minimum wage for all employees.

For instance, the notice stipulating the new terms now indicates that, from next year, each Kenyan worker will be earning a minimum of 1,000 Saudi Riyals, about Ksh 34,455 every month.

The new salary structure is set to take place starting February 2026 as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing labour reforms following changes to the Kafala system.

The Kenyan Embassy in Riyadh revealed the new update, urging workers to confirm implementation of the new terms with their respective employers and update authorities if this is not effected.

“The Embassy wishes to inform all Kenyan workers that, effective February 2026, the Government of Saudi Arabia will implement a minimum salary of SAR 1,000 per month for all workers. This is in line with ongoing labour reforms following changes to the Kafala system,” the statement read.

The Kenyan authorities urged all workers in the Middle East to raise complaints early so that to ensure full compliance while also safeguarding their rights under the revised labour regulations.
