Former Gatundu North Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has cautioned the State against attempts to believe it can steal the will of the people on the ballot.
Speaking from Mbeere North where he had went to campaign for his preferred candidate, Mr. Kuria told President William Ruto to be careful with the manner in which this government conducts itself throughout the ongoing by-elections countrywide and finally the 2027 general election.
Kuria called out the William Ruto-led government and security authorities saying it will be ‘business unusual’ should any election be bungled against the wishes of many.
“Wameona vile Tanzania imefanya vile imefanya wanafikiria hata wao wanaweza jaribu hiyo hapa. I want to tell President William Ruto that Kenyans’ level of intolerance is at its lowest. We will not have a country should the government continue with their shenanigans,” he warned.
The former head of State economic advisor further displayed his furry over what happened in Kibuchai Bungoma County where an ugly attack was orchestrated against Trans Nzoia Governor, George Natembeya, and his motorcade.
He pointed out that this way of handling critics will finally threaten the peace of this country; adding that every move the government makes is recorded by the international community.
Mr. Kuria asked the State to allow everybody to do and freely express their opinions in these scheduled by-elections because that is in the Constitution.
The Mt. Kenya politician added that the application of too much force by the government will start receiving an equal push back and the peace this nation will eventually be under threat.
