Mama Ida Odinga, today Saturday, and for the first time ever, pointed out weakness in the leadership of the Nairobi County, saying, the city is dirty.
Speaking from her Bondo home where she is still held up following the death of her late husband Raila Odinga, Mama Ida said it is now time to stop praising mediocrity of Nairobi County leaders because Nairobi deserves the best.
“We want to see a clean Nairobi. We want Nairobi to be clean. Let us not protect evil amongst ourselves,” Ida remarked as the audience cheered her on.
Her statement was quickly supported by Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly MCA Robert Alai who commended her for the remark.
“Mama Ida would never tolerate mediocrity. It’s sad that she spoke after the majority leader of the assembly heaped praise on Sakaja”.
Alai is among the Nairobi City MCAs who recently supported the ouster of Governor Johnson Sakaja before ODM Party leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto both came to his rescue.
The two party leaders convened a meeting in which they calmed the storm by asking the MCAs to allow Sakaja 60 more days to correct things in the city and give a report.
