Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i has urged President William Ruto to tone down political rhetoric and focus on leading the country with maturity.

Speaking at a public forum on Thursday, Dr. Matiang’i drew from his past experience in Cabinet, noting that he understands the President’s leadership style. He claimed that when under pressure, Ruto tends to respond with visible frustration.

“I know him very well because we served together in Cabinet for ten years. His recent conduct suggests a leader who feels cornered,” Matiang’i said.

The former Interior Cabinet Secretary further stated that the opposition would not wait until the last minute to raise concerns about electoral integrity, referencing past disputes involving opposition leaders.

He assured supporters that any attempt to interfere with the will of the people would be strongly resisted.

“We are already working on how to take care of next polls. We will not sit here comfortable waiting to attend press briefings in 2027. That we will not do,” he affirmed.

Matiang’i also revealed that the United Opposition is already putting in place structures aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the 2027 General Election.
