Africa now Starts to Feel Effects of US/Iran war

The Coronavirus pandemic was followed by the Russia–Ukraine war, and now we are witnessing tensions involving the US, Israel, and Iran. This seemingly never-ending cycle of crises is beginning to take a toll on global economies.

Already, fuel prices across Africa are starting to rise, and the commodity is showing early signs of scarcity. Many major petrol stations appear to be hoarding supplies, while smaller distributors across Kenya are beginning to ration fuel.

While I am not entirely opposed to US actions – given concerns about Iran’s conduct – and I understand the argument that global stability often depends on a balance of power, it is clear that this situation cannot continue indefinitely. It is time for the conflict to be halted and for meaningful negotiations to begin.

Unless the involved parties are unwilling, leaders with significant influence, such as President Donald Trump, should consider bringing all sides to the table for dialogue.

Peace must always remain the top priority. It supersedes everything else, because without peace, there can be no life.
