New Orange Democratic Movement Party leader, Dr. Oburu Odinga, has confessed having never betrayed or undermined his younger, brother the former Prime Minister, Mr. Raila Odinga in their lifetime.
Addressing from Mombasa today Saturday Nov 15, Oburu Odinga explained how they have grown up together with Raila as lovely brothers respecting each other home and away.
He remarked that he had, all along, respected his brother Raila in their political career. He clarified that it is only in their home where he(Oburu) is the spokesman.
The new party boss detailed further that him and Raila are agemates with an age difference of only “one year and three months only”.
Dr. Oburu appeared to be responding to Winnie Odinga who had attempted to discuss important matters that seemed to appear like lecturing or instructing his uncle Oburu on what or how to carry on with the current Broad-based arrangements which the late Raila left with them.
Oburu, therefore, urged Winnie to accept handling such weighty matters at home as the Odinga family before bringing them to the public.
“Mmesikia msichana wangu Winnie akizungumza hapa maneno ya kutafuta mtu wa kutuongoza mambo ya Broad-based. Hiyo ni sawa but nataka kumuambia hiyo tutazungumza kinyumbani,” Oburu stated.
He added that ODM is a highly-respected political party in the country and everything it plans to do must be handled with both caution and maturity.
Ms Winnie had poked holes into the manner in which a certain section of ODM Party leadership was handling the ongoing relationship with the government of William Ruto before consulting members.
ODM which was founded 20 years ago by the late Raila Odinga alongside others is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary. An event held in Mombasa County and attended by almost every ODM member including supporters.
