Pathology Report Reveals Cause of Cyrus Jirongo’s Death After Naivasha Crash

Pathologists established that the fatal injuries were caused by blunt force trauma incurred at the time of the accident, leading to extensive and catastrophic internal damage. The force of the impact resulted in multiple life-threatening injuries that proved fatal.

The findings were officially revealed on Wednesday, December 17, by Government pathologist Johansen Oduor, working alongside pathologists appointed by Jirongo’s family to ensure transparency in the postmortem process.

The medical team addressed members of the media at Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi, where the postmortem examination was conducted in the presence of family representatives and legal observers.

According to the pathology report, Jirongo suffered multiple fractures, including two fractures on his right hand and fractures on both lower limbs. In addition, he sustained extensive chest injuries, with several ribs broken as a result of the impact.

The report further detailed that the injuries included perforation of the heart, massive bleeding into the chest cavity, and severe crush injuries extending into the abdominal region, collectively confirming that the injuries were consistent with a high-impact road traffic accident.
