President William Ruto’s team has told ODM Party leadership not to think about a Broad-based arrangement that will make them(ODM) either president or Deputy.
Addressing in a government function over the weekend, Nandi Senator Samson Charargei, noted that there will be no negotiations on who becomes the president or the deputy because those two top positions are already occupied.
He added that talks on 2027 and who will become what should start from the lower cadre – maybe prime cabinet position and cabinet secretary slots.
“Msijali na ODM. Nimesikia wakisema ati mazungumzo ya Broad-based. Nataka kusema hivi, hakuna kuzungumzia nani atakuwa president ana nani atakuwa rais 2027. Hizo viti mbili zilienda. Lazima tumshukuru Professor Kindiki kwa heshima yake ya kusimama na sisi,” the Nandi County senator remarked.
He was addressing this even as ODM camp mulls over whether to fully join the government or to chant own ways upto the 2027 ballot.
Currently, there are two groups in the ODM: one for Ruto and another one against the Broad-based arrangement. And as to whether ODM will accept the third position of becoming speaker or prime cabinet secretary in William Ruto’s administration, only them knows.
Signs are already out that Ruto values his current deputy Prof Kithure Kindiki whom he has, not once, described him as a loyal and hardworking deputy.
