Repentance and Holiness founder Prophet David Owuor has hit back at Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, dismissing claims that he traveled abroad for knee surgery as “fake news” from senior government officials.

In a Thursday January 29 statement posted on his social media pages, Owuor described Duale’s comments as false, unverified, and misleading. He clarified that his recent trip referenced by Duale was part of an official international mission in Europe, where he conducted revival meetings and other ministry activities.

“The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness strongly refutes recent public remarks attributed to CS Aden Duale regarding Prophet Dr. David Owuor. The statements suggesting that the prophet underwent medical procedures are false, unverified, and misleading,” Owuor said.

He added that his ministry gatherings focus on prayer, repentance, and faith in Jesus Christ, with attendees often sharing testimonies of spiritual restoration and healing.

Duale made the claims during a TV interview on Wednesday night, questioning how Owuor could perform healing miracles while allegedly seeking medical attention abroad. The CS drew parallels with the 2022 Shakahola tragedy and urged caution over unverified claims of miracles. Duale further warned that medical professionals involved in such activities would face disciplinary action if they failed to provide scientific evidence to support their claims, including potential suspension or revocation of their licenses.

The controversy around Owuor intensified in December 2025 after he claimed to have healed patients suffering from diseases, including HIV and AIDS, and showcased doctors who allegedly confirmed the results. The government subsequently launched investigations, prompting Duale to call for strict scrutiny of medical professionals participating in faith-based healing events.
