Raila Odinga’s daughter, Winnie Odinga, has exposed ODM Party members who are hatching a plan to sell the party ahead of 2027.
In a statement she issued in Mombasa during their party celebrations, Winnie claimed that she was alive to the fact that a section of party members were already receiving money to give out ODM.
She further noted that these meetings are hatched at night.
“ODM is not a party that was secretly birthed. I am informed that there are some of us who are walking with us during the day, but at night are hatching plans to sell our party. That will not be possible, the party was not born in a boardroom,” Winnie claimed.
“The party was not made in a bedroom, and its future will not be discussed as pillow talk. It was born out of protest, made in resistance, and the people of ODM have bled time and again and shed tears for this country, Kenya,” Winnie added.
The EALA MP made these remarks a month after her father Raila Odinga died and was buried in Bondo, Siaya County.
Winnie now joins the swelling list of ODM members like Edwin Sifuna and party leader Oburu Odinga in stopping any early plans to work with the government of William Ruto from 2027.
Raila Odinga’s ODM Party is facing a rare test on whether to support President William Ruto’s 2027 bid or to chant own ways towards and beyond 2027 general elections.
