The late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga with his younger sister, Ruth Odinga, used to fly in and oit of the country eg to Oslo, Norway and other nations during throughout their lives.
This was made easier – thanks to their able and politically connected father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
This is one of the best TBTs that proves that Odinga family grew up together and siblings loved each other past their childhood. Ruth, Raila and Oburu together with others who are less known, have all been supporting each other in both their private and career lives.
Raila, the ex-ODM Party boss, who died recently, emerged as the family breadwinner and continued supporting their family throughout as a father figure.
He was also the undisputed kingpin of the Luo Nyanza for decades despite his efforts to become the country’s head of State failing to mature several times around five times.
Nonetheless, he did not give up, he kept pushing hard his politics every time he failed to clinch the presidency and, due to this consistency, he could end up joining almost every government that was been in power. Odinga, from the opposition, was also able to make key decisions and policies for this country.
The late Raila brought about the 2010 Constitution and the current freedom of speech and democracy the country enjoys today. Every Kenyan remembers him for these changes which he brought about through street protests because the powers-that-be had resisted the changes.
In short, Raila Odinga was the president that we never had! He would die at exactly 80.
