It is now clear that the Kenya’s leading lawyers’ organization LSK(The Law Society of Kenya) has intensified an exercise to replace President Faith Odhiambo as its president.
Vacancies declared as vacant in an official LSK notice seen today include that of the president, Faith Odhiambo who is supposed to be succeeded very soon.
In the notice to all members, the society announced that elections will be held in February 2026, in line with the Law Society of Kenya Act, 2014, and the General Regulations of 2020.
Other positions included three representatives of the general membership, one of whom must be an advocate with at least 25 years of experience, among other qualifications.
Lawyer Faith Odhiambo, who assumed office in March 2024, is expected to complete her two-year term in March 2026. Her deputy, Mwaura Kabata, is among those expected to vie for the top position when nominations open later this year.
Faith has been a vocal and competent president of the Law Society of Kenya having managed to secure freedom of so many young men and women who had been abducted or arrested by the State.
She shot to fame during the period of Gen Zs nationwide protests of Jen 204 that saw hundreds of them abducted and some shot dead.
With passion to perform on duty, Faith always stood with the victims many times and even offered free legal services whenever required. She has also been record rejecting many State appointments by President William Ruto. This is because of her firm stand and principles.
Faith Odhiambo succeeded Lawyer Nelson Havi and has been able to run for two terms each of two years successfully.
