Sacked Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has told Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka not to plan fielding any candidate in Nairobi in 2027.
The ex-DP told supporters that Nairobi belongs to Kikuyus since they not only own it but they also run the economy of the capital city and, therefore need to have all key positions taken over by the DCP Party which he owns.
“Kikuyus we are the majority in Nairobi City. We are owners of all businesses in Nairobi and the rest of the communities are consumers of our products.There is NO way as a community we can fail to field a candidate for Governor, Senate and Woman Representative.
“Infact, we have agreed with Kalonzo that all the seats within the city will be left to us the DCP Party,” he added.
The former DO was speaking this at Kariobangi PCEA Church, Nairobi.
These revelations now leaving people like MP Babu Owino with difficult options to make ahead of 2027 general polls. Owino, just like others, had hung on false hopes that Mr. Gachagua will be rallying the Kikuyu community behind him as Governor for the city.
