Siaya Governor James Aggrey Orengo has warned ODM Party leadership against attempting to be under anyone’s umbrella and mercies after the recent Raila Odinga’s death.
Addressing in a meeting held in Bondo, Siaya County attended by Wiper Party boss Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka an mama Ida Odinga, Governor #Orengo warned the ODM Party members together with its leadership against agreeing to work under UDA or Kenya Kwanza administration.
He reiterated the need for both the Wiper Party and ODM to remain strong and independent even in the wake of take over threats, saying, that is how democracy will be realised in the party.
“Kama ODM tafadhali mimi ninawaomba, msifanye makosa ya kumezwa na kitu yoyote, msifanye makosa ya kumezwa narudia… msimezwe mimi nawaambia,” he announced.
Happy to hear the statement was Mama Ida and other ODM members who cheered him as he made the explosive remarks.
Lawyer Orengo was saying this in reference to attempts by the ruling party to persuade ODM members to join the governmnet ahead of 2027.
After Mr. Odinga’s deaths weeks ago, President William Ruto was heard promising to support his party ODM so that it can remain strong. However, a section of political analysts argued that this was another way of Ruto attempting to take over and kill the party.
