Shock as Ugandans stumble upon an old undated clip of their President Yoweri Museveni talking about dictators in Africa and why it is wrong to overstay in power and to kill people because of an election.
Younger Museveni is also heard talking about misuse of guns and why negotiation among worrying factions is key in any maturing democracy including Uganda.
The head of State is further heard talking about peaceful handing over of power after every election and why it is part of civilization.
Opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, while reacting on the trending clips, said this about the Yoweri Museveni of yesterday and the one ruling their country now.
“Imagine if the Museveni in this video met the Museveni of today! Sadly, the dangers he warned about when leaders overstay their welcome are unfolding before our very eyes. The good news is that together with millions of other Ugandans, we are committed to ending this cycle and securing the peaceful, democratic transition that he once claimed to stand for”.
