Witnesses in Malava have come forward with fresh claims linking the violence that led to the burning of former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa’s vehicle to organized gangs allegedly associated with powerful political figures.
According to multiple accounts from residents, the assailants were not locals. Instead, they were reportedly ferried into Malava from neighbouring constituencies shortly before the confrontation erupted. Witnesses say the group appeared coordinated, suggesting prior planning.
Sources at the scene further alleged that the youths involved were acting on instructions from well-known political players. The attackers allegedly moved with precision, targeting Wamalwa’s convoy before setting one of the vehicles ablaze.
Local leaders have called for investigations to establish who facilitated the transportation of the gangs and whether political operatives were directly involved. Authorities are yet to issue a detailed statement on the incident as inquiries continue.
