According to family sources, Beryl passed away on Monday at a Nairobi hospital where she had been receiving long-term treatment. She had reportedly been in and out of medical facilities for months, including the same Indian hospital where Raila Odinga himself was admitted earlier last month.

Ruth Odinga confirmed the tragic news, expressing deep sorrow at yet another blow to the family. “It is with a heavy heart, but accepting the will of God, that we announce the sudden passing of Beryl Achieng Odinga”.

Ruth described Beryl as a devoted mother and a central figure within the Odinga household, noting that she leaves behind her children Ami Auma, Chizi and Taure. She also highlighted the pain being felt across the extended family, including Senator Oburu Oginga, Raila’s family, Akinyi Wenwa and many others.
