Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) Party leader Moses Kuria has formally registered his intention to contest a parliamentary seat on President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
This political move now signals a major political realignment ahead of the next general election.
Kuria, a seasoned politician known for his outspoken style and strategic influence in national politics, said the move was guided by the need to consolidate political support and strengthen development-focused leadership under the Kenya Kwanza administration.
By seeking the UDA ticket, he positions himself firmly within the ruling coalition, despite being the founder and leader of CCK.
Speaking after completing the registration process, Kuria emphasized unity and pragmatism in politics, noting that party affiliations should serve the interests of citizens rather than individual ambition.
He added that aligning with UDA would provide a stronger platform to advance legislative priorities and deliver tangible development outcomes at the constituency level.
The decision has sparked debate within political circles, with supporters viewing it as a strategic step to enhance influence in Parliament, while critics question the future role of smaller parties within dominant coalitions.
Kuria’s registration underscores the growing trend of political heavyweights rallying behind major parties as the election season approaches, setting the stage for competitive primaries and intensified political maneuvering within UDA.
