Lawyer and political activist Miguna Miguna has claimed that actions taken by the former Uhuru Kenyatta administration led to the freezing and eventual banning of his PayPal account.
According to Miguna, PayPal froze both his personal and business accounts following his controversial deportation from Kenya in 2018.
He alleges that after being abducted, tortured, sedated, and forcibly removed from the country while unconscious, international financial platforms acted against him in what he describes as coordinated pressure from “Western autocracies” and local collaborators.
Miguna says the account freeze left him unable to access his funds, forcing him to take legal action against PayPal in order to recover part of the money.
Although he was eventually able to reclaim some of the frozen funds through the courts, he claims that PayPal permanently banned him from using its services thereafter.
The former presidential aspirant has repeatedly maintained that his deportation and its aftermath were politically motivated, and he continues to cite the PayPal ban as one of the lasting consequences of that episode.
