The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has settled a KSh 1.9 million debt owed to former Harambee Stars head coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee.
Mulee had previously been owed KSh 4.8 million in unpaid dues dating back to his time serving the national team under a previous FKF administration.
The matter had lingered for years, becoming one of several financial disputes associated with the federation’s former leadership.
Following the entry of the current FKF administration, the outstanding amount was gradually reduced, leaving a balance of KSh 1.9 million, which has now been fully settled.
Speaking to FKF Media, Mulee explained that the debt dated back to 2013 when he served as the federation’s technical director.
“Actually, my debt with the federation goes back to 2013 when I was the technical director. I was very disappointed at the time because there had been many promises,” Mulee said.
He added that the situation began to change after the new federation leadership assumed office.
“Since the new federation came in, I spoke with the president, Hussein, and he assured me that he would look into the matter. I’m happy that although it has taken some time, the bill has finally been settled,” he said.
Mulee also expressed gratitude to FKF president Hussein Mohammed for honouring the commitment.
“I want to thank the president for coming in and keeping his word. He simply instructed the people at the federation to check on the matter, and they have cleared it,” he added. #JacobMulee | #HarambeeStars
