Ndindi Nyoro has sharply criticised President William Ruto and his administration, accusing them of attempting to undermine the youth-driven NikoKadi campaign.

Speaking to students at the University of Nairobi on Saturday afternoon, March 28, MP Nyoro claimed that the government was seeking to associate itself with the Gen Z-led voter slogan with the intention of eventually diluting and sabotaging its impact.

He further alleged that the current administration is “living on borrowed time” and increasingly anxious about the upcoming general election, arguing that it recognises waning public support.

“Do not pretend that you want the #NikoKadi campaign when in real sense your plan is to sabotage it. Leave our young people alone with their ideas. If you want to steal, you can continue stealing everything but don’t touch the slogan,” Nyoro said.

According to the Kiharu MP, the initiative is an organic youth movement, comparable to the protests witnessed in June 2024, which he said nearly brought the government to its knees.
