Veteran journalist Tina Ogal has officially joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ahead of the 2027 General Election and declared her interest in the Embakasi East parliamentary seat.
Her entry sets the stage for a potential contest with the incumbent MP, Babu Owino.
Ogal was unveiled during a party event held on April 28 and presided over by ODM Secretary General Catherine Omanyo, where several new aspirants were welcomed into the party.
ODM confirmed that Ogal has formally expressed interest in vying for the Embakasi East seat, adding momentum to what is expected to be a highly competitive race.
A seasoned broadcaster, Ogal is well known for her long tenure at Royal Media Services, particularly on Radio Citizen, where she built a reputation over two decades for her commanding voice and strong Swahili presentation.
The party noted that the ongoing recruitment drive is aimed at attracting professionals and strengthening its political base ahead of the 2027 polls.
