A young content creator from Nairobi has captured international attention after demonstrating how social media can be a force for good. Godfrey Mwamburi Wavonya, known online as ‘duty_boy_stylish,’ was recently named one of ten global winners to join YouTube star MrBeast on a charity mission in Ghana. The recognition came during the 2026 One Billion Followers Summit, held in Dubai, UAE, which wrapped up on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

The initiative, organized in partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Initiative and the Varkey Foundation, encouraged participants to perform acts of kindness, share them online, and tag MrBeast and the summit for consideration. Selected winners earned the chance to work directly with MrBeast to build a village in Ghana, combining entertainment with tangible humanitarian impact.

Wavonya’s contributions stood out because they focused on marginalized communities within informal settlements like Kibera. Collaborating with university peers and supporters online, he cooked meals for street children and homeless adults, provided clothing and shoes, and offered small comforts that brought dignity to those in need.

Reflecting on his selection, Wavonya described it as both humbling and inspiring, emphasizing that compassion knows no boundaries. “One person can make a difference, but together, we can create change,” he said, urging sustained engagement with vulnerable groups rather than one-off gestures.

Through his work, Wavonya hopes to inspire politicians, artists, and fellow content creators to leverage their platforms for meaningful action. His story reinforces the summit’s mission: even small acts of kindness, when shared, can ripple into global impact.
